Centre for frail elderly people Le Manoir - Caluire-et-Cuire (69 - France)
SET TARGET :
Under the control of the 'Bâtiments de France Architect', restoration of the 19th century building which houses a home for the elderly in order to improve the level of comfort of the too small bedrooms, while maintaining the same accommodation capacity.
THE SOLUTION OFFERED BY SUD ARCHITECTES :
A completely redesigned interior structure for the old building, combined with the construction of a contemporary wing equipped with a moving roof and connected to the rest of the building by a glazed section with a view of the garden. Many elements will provide the patients with an improved quality of life: the bedrooms, located on either side of the two buildings, the lounges and dining rooms located upstairs for residents with reduced mobility, the single-level dining room looking out on to the garden, the polychrome design of the signage system and the atmospheres created.
