Ecotourism complex - Catemaco (Mexico)

In the Biosphere Conservation Area of Catemaco, near Veracruz, along the Gulf of Mexico, building of a model ecotourism complex in total harmony with the natural environment and adapted to the hot and rainy weather conditions.

THE SOLUTION OFFERED BY SUD ARCHITECTES :
In the Biosphere Conservation Area of Catemaco, near Veracruz, along the Gulf of Mexico, building of a model ecotourism complex in total harmony with the natural environment and adapted to the hot and rainy weather conditions.
Sud Architectes' response: A self-sufficiency project that makes use of all the opportunities offered by the site itself: priority given to renewable energies (solar power, spring water, ...), use of locally available materials (wood and bamboo for the buildings, palm for the roofs), wastewater treated by lagooning, ... Covering 200 hectares, the complex will comprise 3 villages, 150 villas, a thalassotherapy centre, a belvedere hotel, a golf course and several leisure facilities (tennis courts, ranch, ...). Residents will move around in golf carts with integrated solar panels. This 'turismo alternativo' project, the first of its kind in Mexico, will fit in perfectly with the surrounding paradisiacal scenery: long beach of white sand, mangroves and lush green mountains...
