Contexte & enjeux
Greatly damaged by years of war, the French Ambassador’s residence in Lebanon was in need of significant restoration and restructuring.
To remain faithful to the original building: partial disassembly, stone by stone, of the exterior facade, then reassembly using the original elements or stones from Lebanese quarries to replace the most damaged ones. Inside, on the ground floor, identical reconstruction of the molding, paneling, woodwork and decoration following sketching and analysis. For the private sections of the first floor, complete redistribution of the furnished volumes in a contemporary and functional way.
