Europarc - Saint Priest (69 - France)

SET TARGET :
Within a technology park, creation of a complex that meets high quality standards, in terms of both urban planning and landscape design. Key constraint: a high quota of parking spaces, hardly compatible with the concern for a high-quality landscape environment.

THE SOLUTION OFFERED BY SUD ARCHITECTES :
Fully integrating the greenery in the architectural design and minimising the surface impact of the parking spaces by using underground car parks. The central area of the site, which serves as common car park and green open space, will have two levels of parking spaces (one semi-subterranean, the other above ground), surrounded and hidden by small gardens. The surrounding buildings will also have underground car parks. Their layout will enable the greenery to enter into the heart of the project. As regards the architecture, emphasis will be placed on simplicity (of shapes) and on sobriety and technology (of materials) so as to reinforce the contrast with a vigorous and exuberant green environment.
