SET TARGET :
Opening the EHPAD (Centre for Frail Elderly People) towards the city and better welcoming the residents.
THE SOLUTION OFFERED BY SUD ARCHITECTES :
Creation of a dynamic interaction with the city centre. A foothold is created at the bottom of the avenue in order to open the new Hospital Square. This latter features green open spaces open to the general public and becomes a place for exchanges, opens perspectives and displays the existing typical architectural elements. The EHPAD revolves around two 4-level buildings: at the bottom, the general services; at the top, the accommodation section. The healthcare, curing and service areas are located at the centre of the building in order to facilitate logistics. The rooms distribution is rationalised around a central corridor; everywhere, recesses enhance dialogue possibilities between occupiers, and lounges widely open towards the Square.
