SUD architects is proud to have attended yesterday's inauguration of the new Burgundy School of Business (BSB) campus located in Lyon's 8th arrondissement.

Designed for Carré d'Or, the 8,200 m² project is largely open to the city and blends into the historic industrial context of the neighborhood through its volume and architectural vocabulary.
It was designed according to the principles of modularity and adaptability in order to create a unique third place consisting of open spaces that can be converted into hybrid workspaces adapted to the practices of its users.

The project is the campus's new showcase, offering large double-height spaces overlooking the street. It consists of three blocks connected by glass walkways offering views of both the city and the center of the block. Each block is composed of two volumes, one in stained concrete, the other in wood frame and metal cladding.

The shed-shaped roof echoes the existing industrial buildings of the JST factories and allows for the installation of photovoltaic panels.
The site has been replanted and the project preserves the existing trees that line the campus street.
Designed according to the Carrément Hexagonal© approach, the future campus is aiming for E3C1 certification and BREEAM Excellent certification.

SUD architectes is pleased to share with you images of the “La Manade” housing development in Vaulx-en-Velin, a competition won with GR Ultimmo for Foncière Logement.
Located in the heart of the Mas du Taureau urban development zone, the La Manade construction site is currently underway. Designed as a true urban seam, this project creates a link between neighboring developments and offers future residents a comfortable, open, and sustainable living environment.
It consists of three four- to five-story buildings with attics, located on a 3,807 m² plot. The project will offer 58 family homes, representing a total surface area of 4,220 m² SHAB, with a generous average of 72.7 m² per home. All apartments are multi-oriented and benefit from high-quality outdoor spaces, averaging 18 m² per unit. The project also includes a basement with 69 parking spaces and large bicycle storage areas, in order to meet new needs and promote soft mobility.
La Manade also stands out for its environmental ambitions. Designed in accordance with RE2020 threshold 2025 regulations, it has been awarded the Level 1 bio-based building label and uses innovative materials such as low-carbon concrete and CCB Greentech wood concrete. It will be equipped with photovoltaic panels and green roofs, and will feature an urban forest designed according to the Miyawaki method at the heart of the block. The entire complex will be connected to the district heating network, which is 78% powered by renewable energy.
Scheduled for delivery in 2027, “La Manade” fully embodies a commitment to architecture that is human, urban, and environmentally friendly.

SUD architects is delighted to share with you the first images of the Charlieu-Belmont Community Aquatic Center.
Already open to schoolchildren, it will be officially inaugurated on October 4.

Supported by the Charlieu-Belmont Community and designed by SUD architects, this project replaces the old summer swimming pool with a new, modern, sustainable, and welcoming facility.

The program includes a sports pool, a learning pool, an indoor slide, a sauna and a hammam, as well as outdoor leisure areas with a water playground.

The architecture favors simple lines that open onto the landscape and are punctuated by a wooden structure. With 2,300 m² of indoor space and 2,500 m² of outdoor space, the aquatic center fits perfectly into its environment.

The environmental commitment is reflected in the wooden frame, a biomass heating system, photovoltaic panels, a perlite filtration system, and water and heat recovery devices.

This new facility embodies a strong ambition: to offer the population a place dedicated to learning, leisure, and well-being, while contributing to the attractiveness and dynamism of the region.

Here's a look back at the inauguration on Friday 11 April of the new Béraudier lower square at the Part-Dieu multimodal transport hub in Lyon.
From conception to completion, the “Place basse” project represents 10 years of commitment by SUD Architectes.

It is a large-scale project, combining urban restructuring and architectural creation, driven by the stimulating complexity of its multiple programming. This ambitious project is part of one of the largest multimodal transport hubs in France.

The new ‘lower square’ project is distinguished by an exceptionally rich programme:
- New access to metro line B
- The creation of the largest bicycle station in France, with 1,500 spaces
- A new taxi rank
- Three levels of underground parking
- And new retail spaces

The access to this new ‘lower square’ is marked by a strong architectural signal.
A veritable work of art, this 1,000 m² circular metal canopy (38 metres in diameter) rests on 9 slender brushed stainless steel pillars 15 metres high. It has become a powerful marker of the urban transformation of Part-Dieu, creating a fluid link between the city, the station and the various forms of transport.

It embodies a desire to be open and welcoming, reconciling transport infrastructure and high-quality public space. Its slightly curved underside, made up of 840 frosted hexagonal facets, reflects the movement between the two levels of the square, creating an atmosphere that is both dynamic and reassuring.
Its slender structure blends harmoniously into the surrounding urban perspectives, ensuring visual continuity with the station facades.
This metropolitan threshold becomes a singular urban object, a symbol of the renewed identity of Part-Dieu.

Next step: the inauguration of the bike station in June!

On track for 2025!... and the first test on the access ramp to the future 1,500-seat bike station at Part-Dieu station.
SUD architects would like to take this opportunity to wish you a wonderful festive season and, together, look forward to the year ahead, when the new lower square in front of the station's main entrance will be inaugurated.

A structure weighing 100 tonnes, 30 metres in diameter, 4 metres wide and 80 metres long!
This ramp is an integral part of the project, now nearing completion, to restructure the Multimodal Interchange Hub (PEM) at Part-Dieu station in Lyon, and more specifically the new ‘lower square’ designed by SUD architects.

From the Place Béraudier, there will be two ways of accessing the ‘lower square’: cyclists will be able to use the access ramp to the bike station, while pedestrians will be able to access the lower levels through the new opening at the station exit, marked by a 1,000 m² circular metal canopy.
The square extended below will provide a new public space with shops and restaurants, access to the metro, a taxi rank, a car park and a cycle rank to encourage the use of soft modes of transport.

It has been designed according to the principles of modularity and adaptability in order to create a unique third place made up of open areas that can be used to create hybrid workspaces adapted to the practices of its future users.

A new showcase for the campus, the project offers large double-height spaces overlooking the street. It is made up of three blocks connected by glazed walkways offering views of both the city and the heart of the block. Each block comprises two volumes, one in stained concrete, the other in timber frame and metal cladding.

The roof, in the form of sheds, is in dialogue with the existing industrial buildings of the JST factories, and allows for the installation of photovoltaic panels.

The site has been revegetated, and the project retains the existing trees that punctuate the campus street.

SUD architectes is proud to announce the start of construction work on the new French Embassy in Doha, Qatar.

The uniqueness of this project, supported by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, lies in its bioclimatic architecture, the result of careful consideration, from the outset of the competition, to adapt the program to the climate and harmonize it with the surrounding landscape in a secure setting.
The plot was designed as a landscaped living space. This can be seen in the siting and design of the buildings, which provide protection from the heat, the choice of appropriate materials and claddings, and above all the layout of a large linear garden featuring a selection of landscape species and optimal water management.

The project is certified by Cerway, ASSOCIATION HQE Niveau EXCEPTIONNEL.
Completion is scheduled for 2026.
