Contexte & enjeux

The Promenades Montaigne project seeks to play a linking role between the safeguarded sector, the Boulevard Montaigne and the 19th century town.

The project’s commercial route is part of an overall logic for pedestrian movements in the medieval centre. It constitutes the missing piece in the current system, which allows for the looping of tourist and commercial flows.

The residential programme fits into the volume of the shop to ensure a gradual transition between the adjoining residential buildings in the old town; a gently undulating canopy marks the link between all the newly created public spaces.
