THOUARS AQUATIC CENTRE Thouars (France) - 2016

Contexte & enjeux

The aquatic centre is defined by a squared plan of the pools along a curved and glazed wall oriented in two directions: South towards the Thouet valley and West towards the town.

The hall, located opposite the outdoor beaches and taking advantage of the hillside, is placed on the mezzanine of the pool hall, offering a close-up view of the pools located below and a view of the town and the valley.

The changing rooms and part of the technical premises are hidden in the slope of the land, favouring the light and playful aspect of the facility, which is also described by the curved, planted roof.
