The Sauvestre–Océane neighborhood project in Rezé is part of the transformation of the Océane sector into a mixed-use, sustainable, and connected urban ecosystem. It aims to evolve a single-use area into a more compact, peaceful, and diverse neighborhood, integrating housing, services, and cultural and sports facilities.
The urban strategy is based on a logic of layering programs to free up renaturalized spaces and limit land development. This approach also helps reduce urban heat islands and promotes active transportation over private cars.
The project also aims to redevelop the city entrance, particularly along Rue Ernest Sauvestre, and to strengthen links with neighboring developments and major metropolitan projects. It is based on the preservation of the existing landscape heritage and a careful reorganization of commercial areas without expanding land use, but with improved urban integration.
As part of the support mission, the team is leading the development of a master plan and a detailed development plan (OAP), in coordination with the City of Rezé and Nantes Métropole. This approach aims to build a shared project that reconciles local challenges, metropolitan dynamics, and technical requirements to create a coherent, adaptable neighborhood firmly rooted in its local context.
