In Écully, the Groupe SEB’s new global headquarters exemplifies a comprehensive, large-scale approach to landscape and architectural redevelopment. Located on a former brownfield site along the A6 highway, the project transforms a former landfill into a high-quality, tranquil office campus.
The creation of a densely planted landscaped embankment protects the site from noise pollution, while a vast central water feature structures the complex and manages stormwater runoff.
The true heart of the project, this aquatic landscape promotes biodiversity and offers a unique working environment.
The buildings are arranged around this garden, connected by pedestrian paths and footbridges, enhancing interactions and uses. The architectural style, understated and cohesive, relies on a palette of durable materials combining terracotta, metal, and glass.
The campus now accommodates a wide variety of functions, from collaborative work to spaces for presentations and research. This project demonstrates architecture’s ability to transform a constrained site into an attractive work environment, where landscape and buildings fully contribute to well-being and collective performance.
