In Porto-Vecchio, the South Harbor Quay project supports the expansion of port infrastructure while fostering a genuine urban vision on a city-wide scale. Beyond accommodating new recreational boating capacity, the challenge is to create a neighborhood that is vibrant year-round, balancing seasonal tourist activities with permanent local uses.

The project is based on a clear urban composition that structures a linear site open to the sea, giving it rhythm and a sense of centrality. At the heart of the development, a land-sea hall serves as a unifying element: the true linchpin of the project, it organizes pedestrian flows, connects the various programs, and creates a large public square opening onto the port and the city.

The architecture of this facility, both contemporary and rooted in Mediterranean culture, asserts a strong identity while remaining open to its surroundings. Around this central hub, public spaces unfold in varied sequences, alternating between lively areas and landscaped respites.

To the southwest, the main pier extends into a green corridor, forming a vast planted area that brings freshness and enhanced usability to the urban route. On the opposite side, an elevated building houses a third place facing the open sea, offering distant views while discreetly integrating parking functions.

The project adopts a bioclimatic and sustainable approach, in which the quality of the site layout, the management of traffic flows, and the thoughtful placement of structures determine the site’s comfort and adaptability.

It proposes a new interface between the city and the sea, capable of supporting future transformations.
