RESIDENCE DES PINS Beirut (Lebanon) - 1998
General presentation
Contexte & enjeux
Heavily damaged by the years of war, the residence of the French Ambassadors in Lebanon required a major restoration and restructuring.
In order to remain faithful to the original building: on the outside, partial dismantling of the façade, stone by stone, then reassembling from the original elements or stones from Lebanese quarries to replace the most damaged. Inside, on the ground floor, reconstitution of the mouldings, woodwork, joinery and decorations to the same standard after drawing and analysis. For the private parts of the first floor, complete redistribution of the volumes fitted out in a contemporary and functional way.
