In Dole, the Scabois project involves the creation of a cooperative dedicated to the woodworking industry, bringing together offices, workshops, storage areas, and a showroom within a single production site. The project embodies a philosophy of pooling expertise by establishing a collaborative workspace that is both functional and intuitive.
Located at the intersection of the various activity zones, the project is organized according to a clear understanding of traffic flows and uses, distinguishing between production, management, and presentation spaces. This hierarchy ensures operational efficiency while highlighting the trades represented.
At the corner of the site, a distinct volume marks the entrance and serves as an architectural landmark. A true showcase for the cooperative, this more qualitative and expressive element is immediately visible from the main entrance and affirms the site’s identity.
The architectural design highlights the materiality of wood, consistent with the site’s activity, while incorporating more contemporary elements for the service and exhibition spaces. This duality reinforces the project’s clarity and its roots in its professional context.
The complex forms a unified working environment where production, representation, and storage coexist within a rational and adaptable layout, serving the artisans and their activities.
