INTERCOMMUNAL AQUATIC CENTER Charlieu-Belmont (France) - 2025
General presentation
Contexte & enjeux
The Charlieu-Belmont intermunicipal swimming pool project addresses the major challenges of providing new swimming instruction facilities and a leisure and wellness center for the local population.
It contributes to the region’s tourist, heritage, and cultural appeal and promotes local economic development, particularly during its construction.
The project stands out for its gentle, soothing, and controlled architecture, both in terms of its programmatic and functional and technical aspects.
It is characterized by timeless architecture that blends delicately into its environment.
The volume containing the pools, which is very open to the landscape and punctuated by its wooden structure, gives the project the sober but powerful image of an intermunicipal public facility.
The first hall houses the sports pool for swimming, and the second is dedicated to wellness and the leisure pool. It includes a sauna and hammam area, hydro-massage jets, and a pentagliss slide with direct access to the sunny, planted outdoor areas.
The project embodies the ambitions of the city of Charlieu and the inter-municipal community through a functional, elegant, timeless building that is not subject to fashion trends and favors local suppliers.
A place for everyone and for the long term.
