Contexte & enjeux

The development plan chosen takes into account the heritage aspect of the cellars and is oriented towards enhancing its interior volume with the intention of leaving its framework visible, which is one of the main points of interest of the building.

A public space comprising the cinema reception hall and concentrating the various related leisure activities will occupy the major part of this volume.
The interior architecture of this space will play on the contrast of coloured objects, marking each of these activities, which will stand out from the austere background of the walls of the existing building and its framework.

This interior design, which is superimposed on the density of the overall programme, has been the subject of a consensus both with the municipality and with the various public and private stakeholders.

As a result, we have had to lean against the cellars relatively large volumes, in particular, on the railway side, the silo car park.
