FORUM RADUNIA Gdansk (Pologne) - 2018
General presentation
Contexte & enjeux
Urban restructuring opposite the old town. A mixed-use project that includes a shopping centre with multiplex cinemas, gourmet restaurants, 1,100 parking spaces, redeveloped pedestrian areas and an office building. A listed canal is integrated into the building.
The project is designed as a “collection of buildings” to break the monumental effect that such a facility might have had in front of the old town. Part of the building is even integrated under a landscaped slope that allows pedestrians to access directly via outdoor walks to the top floor of the building where the restaurant area with its panoramic views of the old town is located.
Like a chameleon, this project blends into the pre-existing fabric of the city while bringing a breath of modernity.
