LA MANADE Vaulx-en-Velin (France) - 2026
General presentation
Contexte & enjeux
The Mas du Taureau neighbourhood is located north-west of the town of Vaux-en-Velin in the eastern suburbs of Lyon.
This area, which is predominantly social housing, has been undergoing a major urban renewal project since the 2000s, focusing on its social housing estates, and the Mas du Taureau ZAC project is part of this urban redevelopment.
The project consists of two buildings with 58 housing units spread over 4,500 m². The project consists of two buildings.
The two buildings have three entrance halls that provide direct access to the garden and the Miyawaki forest.
The multiplication of these vertical spaces allows the project to offer only dual-aspect and/or bi-oriented dwellings, in order to promote natural ventilation and reduce the number of
dwellings per floor.
Avoiding overlooking between dwellings and offering unobstructed views are important aspects of this project. The living areas are deliberately oriented to the south, towards the green spaces.
The centre of the block, which is very accessible and generously planted, is designed as a true outdoor extension of the dwellings, a garden that each resident can make their own, a place for living and meeting, playing and relaxing.
