LUGDUNUM Lyon (France) - 2017
General presentation
Contexte & enjeux
Anchored in the living history of Lyon’s Fourvière hill, Lugdunum brings an ancient island into the modernity of a “haute couture” residence set in a wooded park. Within easy reach of the ruins and monuments, it cultivates a sense of togetherness (56 luxury homes alongside 25 social housing units) in the spirit of Lyon’s art de vivre. Pavilions on a convivial scale help to welcome a natural and patrimonial landscape.
The refinement and elegance of Lyon’s classical architecture are evoked in contemporary elements inspired by the “Art Deco” vocabulary.
Clear graphic lines and a choice of materials rather than colours promise a rich ageing process: facing stone, white concrete, metal and glass dress the exterior façades and common areas and extend the nobility offered by the listed site of the heights of Lyon.
