Contexte & enjeux
The “Salle Montaigne” is located at the “Espace des lettres” on Damascus Street in Beirut.
This high cultural place concentrates an important part of the intellectual life of Lebanon since the years 1950/60.
Partly destroyed in the early 1980s, it was rebuilt in 1991.
In 2013, the interior installations of the hall were renovated, followed in 2018 by the reception hall and the dressing rooms.
In 2021, the project to renovate the Salle Montaigne on an occupied site will begin: new roof, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, asbestos removal, cladding of the façade.
