Contexte & enjeux
SUD architects in Poland is responsible for the master plan, architectural and structural design and coordination for the construction of 7.5 km of railway tunnels under the city centre of Łódź including the creation of three underground stations: Koziny, Polesie and Srodmiescie.
This tunnel will connect the “Łódź Fabryczna” station located in the east of Łódź to the western stations of the city.
On a larger scale, it will connect two existing railway systems generating a more efficient trade and communication system for Poland.
It will also contribute to the improvement of daily travel for the citizens of Łódź.
Its inauguration is scheduled for 2025.

Area
3 underground stations with a total area of 75,000 m², 6 technological chambers with a total area of 24,000 m². The total length of the tracks is approximately 17 km.
Of the three underground stations, two have 2 platforms, each 150m long and one has 4 platforms on 2 levels.
